Elizabeth Smith, PhD, is the assistant director of international student and scholar services in the Center for Global Engagement at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she oversees employment-based immigration services for international faculty, researchers, and staff. She holds a PhD in higher education administration and MS in college student personnel, both from the University of Tennessee, and a BA in French and communication from Wake Forest University. While her undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral research explored various topics on international student success, she currently enjoys working with faculty and researchers, many of whom were international students in the U.S. prior to their current positions. Elizabeth currently serves as chair on NAFSA’s Employment-Based Subcommittee.
