A proud Star Wars, Star Trek, and Harry Potter geek, Jessica Lynn Hylton has spent more than 20 years in higher education and over 14 years in international education, helping students, colleagues, and institutions navigate global engagement. She currently serves as Director of Global Students & Experiences at the University of Missouri–St. Louis (UMSL), where she leads international student and scholar services, study abroad programs, and broader internationalization efforts. Jessica's professional journey has included international student advising, enrollment management, recruitment, faculty engagement, study abroad, and senior leadership. Along the way, she has developed a passion for mentoring emerging international educators and building supportive, collaborative teams. Her research and presentations have focused on international student support, professional practice, immigration advising, global partnerships, enrollment management, and the experiences of international education professionals. 

A longtime NAFSA volunteer, Jessica has served Region IV in the Chair Stream and as Communications Coordinator. She is passionate about professional development and helping emerging international educators build confidence, expand their networks, and develop the practical skills needed for long-term success in the profession. She holds degrees from Maryville University, Webster University, Fontbonne University, and Jefferson College, and credits her own study abroad experiences with launching a lifelong commitment to international education. When she is not working with students and colleagues, Jessica, like all NAFSAns enjoys travel and connecting with people from all over the world. She also enjoys debating the finer points of the Force, the Federation, and the Wizarding World.
