Jinous Kasravi began her work in the field advising low-income high school students and access to higher education for this population. She expanded on this during her graduate studies at the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities and focused her research on increasing the numbers of underrepresented students in study abroad programs and has published and presented extensively on this topic. Her passion for the field of international education was ignited due to her own lived experiences growing up in Iran, Spain, and Canada before finally settling in southern California. Jinous is fluent in French and Farsi, and has studied and worked abroad in Paris, Brussels, and Senegal. Before joining Diversity Abroad, Jinous was the Director of Program Evaluation and University Outreach for the Kuwait Cultural Office in Los Angeles and prior to that the Director of the Education Abroad Program at the University of California – San Diego. She brings those skills into her current role as Director of Membership and Community to help and engage members in the resources available to them through Diversity Abroad. She has worked with both inbound and outbound students throughout her professional career and is passionate about increasing access and diversity.
