John Dunleavy

John Dunleavy is a Study Abroad Advisor with the Center for Global Engagement at the College of Staten Island. He recently became an Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO), working with incoming exchange students. He earned a B.A. in Psychology from the College of Staten Island (CUNY) and an M.A. in TESOL from Hunter College (CUNY).  After teaching English in Guayaquil for four years, he returned to his alma mater and has been advising students studying around the world since 2015. He has come full circle as the advisor for the same Guayaquil program that changed his life as an undergraduate and launched his more than 25-year career in international education.  In his free time, he enjoys kayaking and spending time in the woods with his family.
