Karen Slaymaker

Karen’s work in international education began with teaching English in Tokyo and Kumamoto Japan.  Since 1999 Karen has worked in the UK International Center where she continues to support international students from the time that they are admitted to the University of Kentucky through their degrees, and as alumni.  As Associate Director for International Student and Scholar Services she directs the GradCATS program for incoming international graduate students and supports undergraduate students in the International Village Living Learning Program.  She enjoys leading intercultural communication workshops for students, faculty and staff.  A highlight this year was participating in the Fulbright International Educator Administrators Program in South Korea.
