
Kathie Stromile Golden, PhD
Kathie Stromile Golden, Provost/Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Mississippi Valley State University, has more than 40 years of experience in higher education. During her tenure at MVSU she has served as Director of International Programs/Assistant to the President’s Office, Professor of Political Science, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and Director of the Delta Research and Cultural Institute. Stromile Golden was a Fulbright Lecturer/Researcher at The Academy for Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan Republic; served as Partnership Coordinator and Budget Manager for The International Development Partnerships Activity at the UNCF-SPC; held mid-level administrative positions at Morris Brown College; Morgan State University; and Southern University, Shreveport. She holds BA and MA degrees in Political and Social Sciences from Southern University, a PhD in Political Science from the University of Kentucky and was a Chancellor's Post-Graduate Fellow at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. She has directed higher education partnership programs in Iraq, Liberia, Mauritania, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan and is Executive Director of the National Conference of Black Political Scientists and Director of the Graduate Assistantship Program. Her research and publications focus on communist and post-communist societies; public and environmental health; sex trafficking and, international education.
