Kayla Gatalica

Kayla has been managing global education programs for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) since 2014. With a background in program management, instructional leadership, and partnership development, she oversees DCPS Study Abroad, an award-winning fully funded global travel program; the Embassy Adoption Program, a 45-year-old program that connects foreign embassies with public school classrooms to teach students about global issues and other cultures; and the International Food Days Program, which exposes all DCPS students to global cuisines four time per year, in partnership with foreign embassies and the DCPS Office of Food and Nutrition. She has been honored as a NAFSA Rising Star for Region VIII.
