Keri Toma Loehrer, Ed.D. is the International Programs Manager and Communications Specialist at San José State University, where she develops co-curricular programs that help international students connect, engage, explore, and thrive. Having worked in higher education for two decades in both faculty and staff positions, Keri is passionate about supporting student success both in and out of the classroom. Keri earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership, focusing her research on intercultural learning, student leadership development, and the international student experience. She holds a Masters in Teaching Foreign Language, a Masters in International Education Management, and a certificate in Language Program Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. Keri is a member of NAFSA’s Trainer Corps and has served as a NAFSA member leader at both the regional and national levels since 2019. Keri looks forward to returning to the NAFSA Region XII leadership team as the 2026 Chair Elect.
