Laura has worked in international education for over 10 years, first at Kaplan International, a major ESL school, then as an International Student and Scholar Advisor at Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey. More recently, she has worked at New York University in the Office of Global Services, which serves over 20,000 international students. She recently joined the Office Global Engagement at Santa Clara University as Assistant Director for International Students and Scholars. She is a well-rounded international education professional having worked in ESL and higher education at small and large institutions. Laura has worked both with the student and the scholar population and served as DSO and ARO.

She has also served within the NAFSA Region X Leadership team as Advocacy Coordinator and led the New York/New Jersey delegation at Advocacy Day in Washington DC in 2019. She participated in several NAFSA mentoring programs during the Regional Conferences in NAFSA Region X.

Laura has always been passionate about intercultural exchange and has been an international student herself, graduating with a Master’s Degree in International Affairs at NYU. She feels this experience gives her extra insight on the challenges and needs of the population of international students and scholars she currently serves. She is originally from Italy, has lived abroad in France and Spain and speaks four languages.
