Lombuso S. Khoza
Dr. Lombuso S. Khoza serves as the Director of International Education at Howard Community College, where she leads global engagement efforts with a strong commitment to equity and expanding access for all students. Her work emphasizes the vital role Maryland plays as a leader in community college innovation and inclusive global learning. She collaborates closely with statewide and global partners to strengthen Maryland’s international education ecosystem and broaden opportunities for students across the region. Dr. Khoza brings extensive experience in international student support, global learning program development, and faculty led study abroad, having led initiatives across Europe and the Caribbean. She has served as a Carnegie African Diaspora Fellow at the University of Pretoria and is an alumna of the IEA Taiwan Fulbright program—experiences that shape her focus on reciprocal, ethical, and sustainable global engagement. An active contributor to the field, she presents frequently at conferences and supports diversity centered initiatives through NAFSA, while also engaging locally with the Maryland International Education Consortium to advance statewide collaboration. Originally from the Kingdom of Eswatini, Dr. Khoza began her academic journey in Maryland and later earned her PhD from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. As a former faculty member and administrator, she remains dedicated to creating transformative global learning experiences that empower Maryland students to engage meaningfully with the world.
