Lorie Johns Páulez

Lorie Johns Páulez is the director of education abroad at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. She has worked in international education since 1999 for organizations and institutions in the U.S. and in Spain. Her professional experience includes strategic planning in international education, global education policy development, STEM in education abroad, international program development and management, health and safety in education abroad, risk management and compliance, intercultural communication, and leadership and management in international education. Lorie is an active member of NAFSA, Global E3, the Forum on Education Abroad, and has presented sessions and workshops at regional, national, and international conferences. Lorie has served on professional panels and in various advisory roles in international higher education. She is a member of NAFSA Trainer Corps, previously served on the NAFSA EAKC Subcommittee for Diversity & Inclusion in Education Abroad, and is the current Chair of the Study Abroad Committee for the University System of Georgia. In 2017, Lorie participated in the Fulbright-Nehru International Education Administrator Seminar in India. She holds an MA in Spanish literature and culture from New York University.
