Malaika Marable Serrano, PhD
Malaika Marable Serrano, is a scholar-practitioner with more than 20 years of leadership experience across higher education, nonprofit, and private sectors. She serves as Adjunct Faculty in the Department of Computer Science at Morehouse College and previously as Vice President for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) at Guild, where she led the integration of DEIB principles across the organization. Her past roles include Head of DEI at WorldStrides, Executive Director for Academic and Field Programs at Semester at Sea, and faculty and leadership appointments at the University of Maryland, the University of Tennessee, and several nonprofit organizations. Dr. Serrano holds a B.A. from the University of Southern California, an M.A. from the University of Maryland, and a Ph.D. from the UniversitĂ Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan. In addition to NAFSA, she serves on the boards of Fulbright Canada and the Fund for Education Abroad.
