Marisa Atencio

Marisa Atencio, Ed.D., serves as Assistant Dean and Director of Global Education at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia. With 25 years of experience in International Education, she has led multiple functional areas across large public and small private institutions with diverse global engagement portfolios. A certified IDI Qualified Administrator, she is actively involved in professional organizations such as NAFSA, Diversity Abroad, the Forum on Education Abroad, ACPA, and AIEA, contributing as a leader, presenter, and mentor. Her own study abroad experience continues to inspire her commitment to intercultural learning and her dedication to supporting students in pursuing transformative global experiences.
