Mirian Alicia Carballo

Mirian Carballo holds a PhD in modern literature and a MA in English from the National University of Córdoba (UNC) in Argentina. She is a tenured professor and a researcher in environmental humanities at UNC. From 2016 to 2022, she was the Head of the International Affairs Office of the UNC. Mirian is the current chair of NIEA (Network of International Education Associations) and represents Argentinian public universities there. Previously, she was a member of the Argentinian and IEASALC (UNESCO) executive Committee for CRES 2018 (Conference of Higher Education for the Latin American and Caribbean Region). Hosted at UNC, the conference included about 5,000 participants. The turnout was a regional statement of principles for higher education and a road map for the next ten years. She has performed other management positions such as Dean and Vice-Dean of the School of Languages (UNC) and President of the Argentinian Association of Comparative Literature. Currently, she coordinates RIHUA (Network of Ibero-American Research in Environmental Humanities) and is the Director of the UNC Confucius Institute.
