Prof. Dr. Zeliha Kocak Tufan

Prof. Tufan is a faculty member at the Medical School of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and Board of Trustees in Lokman Hekim University. She served as a Member of the Executive Board of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) for two terms between 2015 and 2021, and as a Diplomat at the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Washington, D.C. (2020–2024). She has also held various executive and advisory board positions at the Turkish Health Institutes (TÜSEB), and the Ministry of Health. During her tenure in public service, she prepared reports and established working groups on women’s studies, migrants and refugees, students with disabilities, and health education. She contributed to developing new regulations and guidelines addressing gaps in related legislation. In her diplomatic role, she focused on education and science diplomacy initiatives.
