Rachel Reed

Rachel Reed (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Program Director at Cultural Vistas, a non-profit that specializes in international exchange and professional development. In this role, she implements the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) as well as grant programs with U.S. Embassies abroad. Rachel graduated from Gettysburg College with a B.A. in Japanese Studies and studied abroad at Kansai Gaidai University in Hirakata-shi, Japan for one year. After graduation, she worked as a diplomatic assistant in the Political Section of the Embassy of Japan in DC for two years before joining the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program (JET Program) as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT). She spent three years teaching elementary and middle school students in Akita, Japan and served as the President of the JET Alumni Association of Washington, DC from 2018 to 2022.
