Robert Franklin

Robert Franklin (he/him/el) is an International Student Advisor at the University of Utah, where he supports a diverse population of international students as part of the U ISSS team. His passion for international education began during his undergraduate years and was shaped by study abroad experiences in Mexico, Ecuador, and Germany, as well as a graduate practicum in Croatia. After completing his master’s degree, Robert moved to South Korea, where eight years abroad deepened his empathy for students navigating new cultures, languages, and visa systems, and upon returning to the United States he spent one academic year working in Education Abroad before transitioning to ISSS advising. He is committed to guiding students through complex immigration requirements while continuing to build his own cultural competency.
