Samira Pardanani

Shoreline Community College

Samira Pardanani is the executive director for international education at Shoreline Community College, located in the Seattle area. Shoreline has been actively engaged in international education for decades. It is among the leading community colleges in the country hosting international students, with approximately 1000 international students from 55 countries. Shoreline has also been the recipient of NAFSA’s Paul Simon Award for Campus Internationalization, and IIE’s Andrew Heiskell Award for Internationalizing the Professions. Shoreline’s dynamic and high-performing International Education department serves many functions, encompassing the areas of international marketing and recruitment, admissions, academic and university transfer advising, immigration advising, student engagement and leadership, study abroad, and international partnerships. Having previously worked at the University of Michigan and Brown University gives Samira a unique perspective on the role of international educators at community colleges vis-à-vis their university counterparts. She is very active on her campus and has served as the vice chair of the campus-wide Strategic Planning and Budget Committee, the Communications and Marketing Steering Committee, and the Enrollment Management committee. She has also served as a leader in NAFSA’s International Education Leadership Knowledge Community (IEL KC). Samira grew up in India and has also lived in Germany and Austria.
