Sarah Brockmeyer is the assistant director of international students and scholars at Santa Clara University. In her current position she is responsible for developing best practices for student and scholar advising, managing orientation and programming, and training advisors. Sarah serves as her team's resident immigration dork and is always up-to-date on complex regulatory changes -- but make no mistake, her number one commitment is to radical, student-first advising. Prior to joining Santa Clara University, Sarah was an immigration paralegal for 7 years, during which she processed all manner of immigrant and non-immigrant petitions and served as a J-1 / F-1 expert at several firms. Outside of work Sarah enjoys heckling California congressional representatives about their immigration voting records. She loves eating, reading, and watching '90 Day Fiance' (it's all about intercultural communication). Sarah lives in San Jose, CA with her three cats (Dora, Diego, and Loki), her dog (Tracy), and her spouse.
