Tech Visionary and African Innovator

Tonee Ndungu is a Kenyan serial entrepreneur and thought leader driving Africa’s tech renaissance. A self-described “systems thinker,” he has built foundational platforms that lift communities. Born and raised in Nairobi and overcoming dyslexia, Tonee co-founded Nairobi’s NAILAB startup incubator (2009–2012) and led its first wave of funding to support ventures like the agricultural startup iCow. In 2012 he launched Kytabu, a groundbreaking EdTech platform that digitized textbooks for thousands of students and teachers. More recently he co-architected Tribbe Nation, a fintech platform digitizing community savings and credit, and helped launch the Africa AI Hub – connecting policymakers and innovators on inclusive AI. A renowned speaker and strategist, Tonee has addressed the UN, G7 and global audiences on technology’s power to transform education, finance and society. He has been recognized as an Eisenhower Fellow and was invited by the US White House (President Obama’s administration) for his role in shaping Africa’s digital future.
