Virág Nikolics

Virág Nikolics was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. She holds a BA in English: Creative Writing and an MA in Education: Special Emphasis in International/Intercultural Education. Based on her experience as an international student, Virág has devoted her interest to international education and has worked with international students for two decades. Prior to her current role as Manager of International Student Services at Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), Virág was an International Student/Scholar Advisor at the University of California, Davis and an ESL Instructor in the SF Bay Area. Virág enjoys supporting students and maintaining connections and collaborations with colleagues near and far. She has initiated several community efforts promoting cultural exchange and celebrating diversity, and she leads the TMCC International Faculty Committee, which aims to mentor international students and create social programming. Virág has also been a member of the Poetry Editorial Board of The Meadow, and she enjoys time with her kids, traveling, writing poetry, reading, and hiking. She speaks Hungarian and Spanish.
