USCIS announced the expansion of its Direct Mail Program to provide for certain filings to be filed at a designated Chicago, Illinois lockbox facility for initial processing. Applications affected by the program include Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status; Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization; and Form I-131, Application for Travel Document. Only certain specialized filings of these forms are affected, and these changes do not affect employment-based adjustment of status applications and associated filings, nor do they affect I-765s filed by F and M students, J exchange visitors, or other nonimmigrants.
