Following a January 21, 2009 meeting with the Vermont Service Center (VSC), the VSC Liaison Committee of the American Immigration Lawyers Association shared the attached summary with excerpts of interest to NAFSAns, including:

    • VSC is transferring I-539 applications to CSC in order to alleviate some of VSC's backlog, including 5000 I-539 for B-1/B-2.
    • Note: Under bi-specialization of product lines, a Service Center is allowed to transfer cases to its partner Service Center.
    • In a California Service Center liaison meeting, CSC reported that it expects to receive up to 15,000 I-539 applications from the VSC.
