Keynote Speaker

Joshua BarrIn addition to the proposed lectures and panels, this year’s conference will feature Joshua V. Barr, Esq., Director of the Civil & Human Rights Department for the City of Des Moines as the keynote speaker. After graduating from law school and later receiving his MBA, Joshua spent two years in Colombia conducting research on institutional corruption at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali (Javeriana University), publishing the academic journal articles: A Legal Perspective on Corruption Models and The Evolution of Business Law in Colombia: Is it Possible to End Colombia’s Legal Dependency? Joshua later became a professor at Javeriana University teaching international business and law courses. He also served as the International Legal Counsel for Corn Products International Andina (now known as Ingredion) and the Director of Education for the foundation GSC Ingles Para Todos (GSC English for Everyone).

Poster Session

We are excited to announce that the 7th annual Iowa International Education Conference will be offering a poster session! All individuals attending are invited to participate. Posters may be presented on any topic, experience, or research in the field of international education. The deadline to register your poster is Thursday, April 18.

Registration Rates

The fee for attendance for NAFSA and non NAFSA members is $25. The fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Registration for student participants is free. NAFSA and non-NAFSA members are welcome to present and attend the conference. If you are interested in participating as a Vendor at this year’s conference, the fee is $200.00. The vendor fee includes conference registration for two people, a table throughout the conference, your logo in the conference program, and recognition during the opening remarks.

Exhibitor Information

If you are interested in participating as a vendor at this year’s conference, the cost to be an exhibitor is $200 and includes the following:

  • Conference registration for two people
  • A table throughout the conference
  • Your logo in the conference program
  • Recognition during the opening remarks

If you would like to be a sponsor, there are three levels of sponsorship on the Registration form. If you would like to partially sponsor or co-sponsor, please reach out to Karla McCollum karla.mccollum@indianhills.edu. The various levels of sponsorship are included on the registration form and include some or all of the following:

  • Signage featuring your conference logo at event
  • Acknowledgement of your sponsorship in the conference during the lunch
  • Designated space to provide materials to attendees at the event
  • The opportunity to address the group at lunch
