NAFSA's leadership structure is led by a Board of Directors. The board guides the association through its Strategic Plan that sets out goals and objectives over a three-year horizon.

Hundreds of NAFSA members volunteer to serve the association to create and disseminate knowledge, to influence public policy, and to maintain a strong organization.
NAFSA Annual Election Ballot
NAFSA presents the national leadership slate for the 2020 election ballot, to begin their leader roles in January 2020. Current NAFSA members in good standing are eligible to vote.
The president of the association is elected by the membership at large. As the chair of the board of directors, the president leads the board in developing policies, priorities and positions, and providing direction for the development and stewardship of its resources through a strategic plan.
