NAFSA staff members Kari Lantos, Robin Little, Jordan Wait, Carri Orrison, and Ellen Barclay along with NAFSA board member Ellen Badger were excited to visit Region VII and experience the southern hospitality the region is famous for. From the grits to the plenaries, we're taking it all in.

Monday kicked off with the newcomers session and luncheon (a highlight for all), and the afternoon included well-attended sessions such as "Helping Students Market Their Study Abroad Experience," "Becoming a NAFSA Leader," and more. Participants were on their own for dinner and took the opportunity to explore the "Vista" and its restaurants and shopping.

Tuesday brought the showing of "Beyond the Classroom: China," moderated by Region VII's own Patricia Willer. The plenary lunch was the time when local and national leaders were recognized, and the conference was capped off by the "Garden Party" for all attendees. The decor was "Kobed up" by the donation of an inflatable palm tree from NAFSA’s exhibit table.

Nearly 500 Region VII conference attendees had a productive and energizing conference, and are looking forward to the annual conference in Los Angeles and their next regional conference in Tennessee.
