Two colloquia took place Wednesday afternoon—one explored the internationalization of business education curricula and the other internationalization of teacher education curricula. These "mini-conferences"gave participants a chance for concentrated discussions and presentations on specific curricular areas.
In the evening, conference-goers enjoyed two special events—a cultural evening at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and a conversation with author Mark Engler, a freelance journalist who wrote How to Rule the World: The Coming Battle Over the Global Economy.

The NAFSA International Education Expo is an effective market place for developing international education partnerships. More than 40 percent of the attendees at the NAFSA annual conference are international attendees representing more than 100 countries.
This year's Expo is the largest ever with more than 600 booths.
Almost 7,500 international educators attend the 2009 NAFSA annual conference. Besides the plenary sessions, attendees learned of the latest trends and best practices in international education through more than 200 sessions.
NAFSA president John Hudzik, CEO and Executive Director Marlene Johnson, and Awards Subcommittee Chair Ann Kuhlman presented national awards at the NAFSA Annual Conference. Marita Houlihan Award-Patricia Jones, Homer Higbee Award-Bruce Sillner, and Life Membership Awards to former NAFSA presidents Margaret Pusch, Martin Limbird, and Dixon Johnson.
