About the author: Dilnoza Khasilova, PhD, is the director of the Adult Education Center at North Idaho College and served as the 2026 chair of NAFSA’s Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship Knowledge Community (TLS KC). She is a founder of the Volunteer World Language and Culture Program (alumni initiative/community programming) at the University of Wyoming (UW). She holds her PhD in literacy studies, within the Curriculum and Instruction Department at UW’s College of Education (minors in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies), and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction with a concentration on English as a second language and a minor in international studies from UW. Khasilova is an alumna of the NAFSA Academy Class 18, Trainer Corps, and served as a Region II TLS KC liaison. She is passionate about adult education, global partnerships, alumni relations, teaching and learning in higher education, lifelong learning, and cross-cultural communication. She has developed nonformal learning curricula to support lifelong learning and has disseminated her work through national and international presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
