Fall 2019 District Luncheon

Location: Hawaii Pacific University, Aloha Tower Marketplace
Join NAFSA Region XII HIPAC District for our annual Fall Luncheon! The luncheon will be held at Hawaii Pacific University's campus at Aloha Tower Marketplace on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 11am - 2pm. Network with NAFSA colleagues and get updates about the District. We hope to see you there!
11:00 a.m.-11:45 a.m. - Professional Development Session:
Grant recipients for the 2019 NAFSA Region XII Conference will present on highlights and key takeaways from the conference. Learn about how we can apply such takeaways to the HIPAC District.
12:30 p.m.-1:00 p.m. - Keynote Speaker: José Barzola, Matsunaga Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution
José Barzola has a passion for creating social change through nonviolence, nurturing relationships that transcend cultural barriers, and focusing on issues of diversity, identity and multiculturalism. He is a highly organized administrator with over 15 years of experience and success in higher education administration, student development within academic and student affairs. José aspires to continue to develop his skills as a peacebuilder and to strengthen his knowledge on the power of nonviolence.
1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. - NAFSA Region XII Hawaii & Pacific District Update:
The NAFSA Region XII HIPAC team will present updates including the Treasurer's report, recent accomplishments, upcoming events, and announce the new team for 2020!
2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. - Tour of Hawaii Pacific University Waterfront Plaza:
Hawaii Pacific University's Student Service Center recently relocated to Waterfront Plaza. Take a guided tour of the new facilities and learn how HPU has increased its support to students.
Parking is available at Aloha Tower at a validated rate:
- 1st Hour - Free
- Each Additional Hour - $2
*Parking is not included in the luncheon cost. Parking can be paid at meters by cash or credit card.
