Coordinator for Regional Outreach

Within the framework of the NAFSA Strategic Plan, this position will:

• Serve as the conduit for information between EAKC and the education abroad regional liaisons from the eleven NAFSA regions
• Host meetings for regional liaisons to discuss trends, needs, and issues, and facilitate communication
• Attend monthly EAKC leadership meetings, including the on-boarding orientation.
• Facilitate the completion of quarterly projects assigned to the Regional Liaisons Subcommittee by the Chair of the EAKC.
• Manage, from start to finish, the EAKC pin design contest for each annual conference.
• Represent the EAKC at annual and regional conference activities whenever possible.
• Maintain attentiveness to development and implementation of EA programs; concerns and issues of the NAFSA regions, observing, prompting, and participating in the online EAKC Network discussions forums and reading NAFSA.news.

• Facilitated a conversation between four EAKC regional liaisons about on-campus partner relationship building
• Tip sheet about integrating career skills into education abroad syllabi
• Collaborated with EAKC partners to support EAKC-related sessions being proposed to all regional conferences/hubs
• Utilized Network NAFSA to organize time-sensitive discussions impacting EA practitioners across regions

• Valid NAFSA membership through the length of the leadership term.
• Two-year term, renewable once for a maximum term of four years. 
• Prepare for and attend virtual NAFSA leadership and EAKC meetings throughout the year. 
• Model and uphold the principles, standards, and expectations outlined in NAFSA's Governance Documents.

• Previous volunteer/presentation experience with NAFSA
• A minimum of three years’ experience in education abroad
• An active interest in assisting colleagues with professional and leadership development
• Excellent communication skills
• Willingness to adopt organization-wide perspectives.
• Preferred experience: service on a NAFSA regional leadership team
