Communicating across linguistic and cultural boundaries is a large part of the day-to-day work for international educators.
In the second installment of the NAFSA e-Learning Express Series, Developing Proficiency in Intercultural Communication, this 45-minute course allows participants to explore the norms of communication in various intercultural contexts. Considering the role their language plays in their work with others, participants will be able to enhance the level of support they are able to provide to those they serve.
After completing this NAFSA e-Learning Express Course, participants will be able to:
- Reflect on the varying communication styles of yourself and others;
- Identify nonverbal elements of communication that can alter the intended meaning;
- Review strategies for adapting and differing communication styles.
