About the authors:
Margaret Wiedenhoeft, PhD, is the executive director in the Center for International Programs at Kalamazoo College and has worked in the field of international education for more than 20 years, performing throughout her career almost every job there is to do in an education abroad office. She presents regularly at conferences, focusing on topics such as student support throughout the study abroad process, strategic decisionmaking for campus leadership and faculty, and sustainable and equitable partnerships. Wiedenhoeft holds a BA in international studies from Emory University, an MBA in international business from Western Michigan University, and a PhD from Western Michigan University.
Corrine Henke, MA, is the director of global learning opportunities and international student services at Boise State University. She has received the provost’s Excellence in Advising Award as well as a $100,000 IFSA Foundation grant for education abroad scholarships. For NAFSA, she assisted with the creation of an e-Learning course, “Mapping Short Term Programs Abroad”; served as a workshop dean; and wrote a chapter for the fourth edition of NAFSA’s Guide to Education Abroad. Henke is the Fulbright scholar adviser at Boise State and was a recipient of a Fulbright International Education Administrators Award to Germany. In 2021, she was awarded an IDEAS grant for capacity-building for study abroad.
