International Student Resource Center Launched
On November 18, 2025, the International Student Resource Center (ISRC) was officially launched by the Talent Mobility Fund, a program of Renaissance Philanthropy, with support from Coefficient Giving, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Dana Foundation, the Lasker Foundation, and additional individual funders. Long-time NAFSA member Robin Catmur-Smith is the ISRC's Managing Director.
According to ISRC Deputy Director Diane Rish, "the ISRC is a new national organization dedicated to providing clear, accurate, and up-to-date immigration information to international students and scholars in the U.S. The ISRC is meant to complement, not replace, the essential guidance provided by DSOs and universities, serving as an additional source of clarity when immigration policies feel confusing or hard to navigate."
The ISRC launch announcement describes "What the Center offers:
- Comprehensive guides and short videos covering topics like F-1 and J-1 visas, OPT/STEM OPT, international travel, post-graduation options and much more
- Timely policy updates and analysis explaining changes in immigration policy and regulation and how they impact you
- A curated newsletter tracking the developments that matter most
- An expert help desk staffed by specialists in international student issues
- A referral list of trusted immigration attorneys for individualized legal support"
NAFSA's executive director and CEO, Dr. Fanta Aw, sits on the ISRC's Advisory Council.
NAFSA members can register for a free webinar, International Student Resource Center: What you need to know, to be held on December 4, 2025. The non-member price for registering for the webinar is $59.
