The Teaching, Learning, and Scholarship (TLS) Knowledge Community fosters connections between academics and professionals in the field of international education. View the TLS vision and mission as well as a list of NAFSA members leading this community and professional networks.

The International Education Leadership Knowledge Community (IEL KC) supports senior international officers and internationalization leaders who provide the vision and build commitment for comprehensive internationalization.

The Knowledge Community for Education Abroad serves professionals who advise U.S. students engaging in study, internship, work, and volunteer opportunities abroad.

Academy Coaches are volunteer NAFSAns who work with a cohort of six trainees. They represent a broad range of expertise and have worked in the field of international education for more than eight years.

NAFSA's leadership structure is lead by a Board of Directors (six officers and 12 members). The Board guides the work of the association through its Strategic Plan that sets out goals and objectives over a three-year horizon. Specific objectives are assigned to member committees, teams, task forces

Life Membership is awarded each year to NAFSAns in recognition of their career achievements in advancing the goals of the Association and of international education and exchange.

This award recognizes a current NAFSA member who has shown leadership in associational activities or sustained stewardship of the field.

This award is given in honor of Cassandra Pyle, a leader in the field of international education and exchange for more than 25 years, and honors the contributions of an international educator to international exchange.
