NAFSA membership at provides the gateway to participating in the wide range of activities in the association.

The NAFSA community is very diverse, which reflects the constituents we as international educators serve and the very mission of the association. We are global and local, in person and virtual. NAFSA is home to trailblazers and long-time colleagues, as well as new leaders and thinkers, with opportunities for members to get involved at every stage of their career.

Members can find colleagues with shared interests through a wide range of activities including conferences, professional development, knowledge communities, publications, and member interest groups. These communities extend to the digital space as well. The Network.NAFSA online forum provides the place for international educators around the world to engage in real time discussions about changes and trends in the field, as well as more focused topics.

As you begin to plan for the NAFSA 2019 Annual Conference & Expo in Washington, D.C., we encourage you to take advantage of NAFSA’s advanced registration system and mobile app to help identify preconference workshops, programming, and events that may enrich your conference experience, align with your individual priorities, and connect you with colleagues with shared interests, challenges, and needs.

There are several networking luncheons, open meetings, and conference-wide celebrations where you can broaden and strengthen your professional connections. For first-timers, dedicated activities are available to help you find communities that are most relevant for you.
